Press release :
Paris, 19 June 2023
Since 1 January 2022, as part of the Fret 21 programme, MLP has been strongly committed to reducing CO2 emissions, and has chosen Proximy, a subsidiary of the Riccobono Group, to deliver its 600 Paris outlets from autumn 2023.
The two companies currently deliver to the same 600 outlets in Paris, MLP to the magazine press and Proximy to the Paris daily press. Rounds will now be pooled to reduce air pollution and relieve congestion in the city.
Proximy has already embarked on its environmental transformation: in the short term, 70% of deliveries in the capital will be made using electric vehicles.
This strategic cooperation will enable us to ensure the daily distribution of the press in Paris while reducing the environmental impact and preserving the economic balance.
As a major player in press distribution, MLP is committed to reducing its CO2 emissions by 5% over the period 2022-2024. This target has been comfortably exceeded, in particular through the elimination of one day of deliveries per week to the 64 regional agents.
The Riccobono Group is pursuing its diversification in the press industries by seeking synergies with other players while respecting their businesses and independence.
This agreement should set an example for the press distribution industry: pooling without merging, maintaining competition and moving towards the economic and environmental objectives of the so-called Press Distribution Modernisation Act of 18 October 2019 no. 2019-1063.
